Riffle Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 May 2026

Riffle is a macOS photo browser published by Smile Pay Pte. Ltd. (“we”, “us”). We designed Riffle to keep your photos and information on your own Mac. This policy explains what that means.

We do not collect your data

Riffle does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no user account. We have no servers that receive your photos or information.

Your photos stay on your device

Riffle only reads the folders you explicitly open. It runs inside Apple's App Sandbox with access limited to the files and folders you choose. Ratings, color labels, tags, and edits are stored locally — in Riffle's local index and, for ratings and tags, as XMP sidecar files saved next to your images. Nothing is uploaded.

On-device AI

Riffle's smart features — Find Similar, People (face grouping), and searchable screenshot text — run entirely on your Mac using Apple's Vision framework. The images analyzed and the results produced never leave your device.

Purchases

Riffle offers a one-time in-app purchase, “Riffle Pro.” Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Children

Riffle is rated 4+ and does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised version at this URL.
