Dovetail is a dual-pane file manager for the Mac, in the spirit of
Total Commander. The name comes from the woodworking joint where two pieces
interlock precisely — like the two panes working together. It's built
natively with Swift and AppKit: instant startup, real macOS behaviors, and
a UI that follows your system language in English and Simplified Chinese.
Dovetail（燕尾榫）是 Mac 上 Total Commander 风格的双栏文件管理器。
名字取自木工中两块木料精确咬合的榫接 —— 正如两个窗格协同工作。
以 Swift 和 AppKit 原生构建：秒开、地道的 macOS 行为，

Your files stay yours你的文件只属于你
Dovetail is a local tool in the classic sense: no account, no cloud, no
analytics, no tracking. It never phones home. The only connections it makes
are to the servers you type in yourself — an SFTP or WebDAV host, a file
share — and those go straight from your Mac to that machine, with nothing
in between. It reads the folders you point it
at, and nothing else leaves your Mac. Deletions go to the Trash, and long
operations run off the main thread with a progress sheet you can cancel.
